Jeff Long

Jeff Long is a Partner on the Investment Team. His primary responsibilities include leading growth and performance improvement across the portfolio of investments. Mr. Long has 22 years of private equity experience: 10 years leading the operating teams of Vestar and then Centerbridge, preceded by 6 of 12 years at McKinsey and Company advising buy side and sell side PE investors, and most recently 6 years as CEO then COO of two PE owned midcap companies (Penhall and Plum HealthCare Group). For the past 3 years, Mr. Long has been on the board of Infrastripe, a Soundcore Capital Partners Fund II investment. As an operating partner at Vestar, Mr. Long was the CEO of Canadian Crude Separators (today Tervita) and COO of St John Knits and led a comprehensive turn around at Solo Cup and Consolidated Container. As an operating partner at Centerbridge, Mr. Long was the CEO of Culligan, led Extended Stay Hotels from bankruptcy to public offering, led comprehensive performance improvement programs across PF Chang’s and Craftworks, Hydrochem and Seitel, and the sale of Hawker Beechcraft. Job-based industrial service businesses have been a consistent focus over Mr Long’s career. Mr. Long graduated first in his class from West Point. He earned a diplôme from l’Institut d’Etudes politiques de Paris as an Olmsted Scholar, was a Littauer Fellow and earned a Master of Public Administration at the JFK School of Government, Harvard, and a Master of Military Arts and Sciences at University of Kansas while attending the Command and General Staff College at Ft Leavenworth. Mr. Long served 14 years on active duty as a Cavalry officer and was an Army Ranger.
